WASHINGTON June 13, 2012 To spread public knowledge of autism research, MindSpec has created a new Autism Quiz social media app which allows the general public to test autism knowledge and share facts about autism with friends.
Available free on iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/autism-quiz/id481913653?mt=8), the Autism Quiz app is also currently under development for Android.
Autism Quiz features four types of challenging quizzes:
- Basic: background information about autism, from diagnosis to common behaviors
- Advanced: in-depth questions about advances in autism research
- Misconceptions: issues commonly misunderstood about autism
- In the News: breaking news from the field of autism research
Each quiz type is color-coded for easy navigation, and their four colors are symbolized in the new Autism Quiz app logo. The Autism Quiz app's user interface is designed to create a quiz atmosphere, making it fun to play with friends.
To reflect the rapidly changing field of autism research, the MindSpec team systematically updates Autism Quiz app questions with the latest scientific knowledge. This ever-changing content aims to keep users returning to Autism Quiz app to explore the current state of the field.
Autism Quiz app questions are also integrated within Autism Reading Room (http://readingroom.mindspec.org), MindSpec's new online resource designed to enhance public understanding of autism research. Built by experts in the field, Autism Reading Room features interactive tools to explain current scientific knowledge about autism spectrum disorders.
