PORT BURWELL ? When the former HMCS Ojibwa arrived in Port Burwell last fall, it brought the prospect of an economic boost and an increase in local jobs to the area.

Now several months later, the economic impact is slowly starting to take shape as ?inside the fence? tours are expected to begin in the next few weeks and Project Ojibwa staff and officials with the Elgin Military Museum prepare for a job fair March 23.

The job fair will be held at the Lighthouse Gospel Church in Port Burwell, said Jeffrey Booth, director of daily operations with the Elgin Military Museum and Project Ojibwa. Hours haven?t been determined.

Project Ojibwa is looking to fill full-time, part-time and temporary summer jobs ? positions that will need to be filled when the decommissioned Cold War-era submarine opens for tours to the public this summer.

?There are approximately 40 jobs ? some of these jobs are part-time and I would say approximately eight to 10 of these jobs are student jobs for the balance of the summer,? Booth said. ?The vast majority of positions will be starting in May.?

Adults and students will be hired to fill various job openings, including office support, tour guides and guest-services attendants ? expected to look after processing tickets and other front-end duties.

The Ojibwa is a 300-metre-long Oberon-class submarine that was destined for the scrapyard before it found a new home in Port Burwell in eastern Elgin County.

The federal government provided nearly $2 million in economic stimulus to help cover the move of the Ojibwa from Halifax.

With the first official job fair for Project Ojibwa just around the corner, excitement is beginning to build as opening day draws closer and the prospective positive boost to the local economy is felt throughout the region.

?Once we start operations and have these people hired and working, we will be the largest employer in the village of Port Burwell,? Booth said. ?This will have a serious effect and a great impact on the local economy.?

Acupuncture Therapy to Treat Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Both anxiety and panic attacks are a problem frequently encountered nowadays. The traditional medical system does not usually find an organic substrate of these disorders (nothing comes out of tests) and patients often end up at the psychiatrist. Although there are psychiatric medications for these disorders, patients often seek alternative treatments because the side effects are plentiful, unpleasant and even dangerous to the patient?s health.

Acupuncture is a good alternative, because through its approach it is interested in reaching the deeper causes of the problems, and the system is based on helping the body heal itself, thus avoiding altogether any side effects. Moreover, acupuncture is a holistic approach that is diagnosing and treating the patient as a whole; at the end of the treatment the patient takes care of other problems besides anxiety and panic attacks.

How does the treatment work?

Depending on the causes determined by the diagnosis, acupuncture treatment will vary in complexity and therapeutic targets. In simple cases where the cause is an energetic imbalance, the treatment will be to resolve those imbalances, a process that will bring about an improvement in various physical symptoms. The patient will begin to feel better relatively quickly and the treatment will be shorter than in case of emotional causes.

There are two ways of letting it out: one is emotional ? the most common way being through panic attacks, and the other is by autoimmune diseases because they are nothing more than the physical materialization of the internal conflicts ? the body attacks itself.

Acupuncture treatment follows the strategy of a surgeon: to remove the emotional pus. It is very important that the patient understands the mechanism of the occurrence of their problems so that they can understand the treatment?s strategy as in the first phase after the treatment, the patient will come in contact with internal or repressed feelings, and these states are not at all pleasant.

The processing (being aware) of these emotions is the only way to remove them from the system. The patient must understand that as an abscess, the procedure is not pleasant at first; disliking being directly proportional to how charged they are. But the benefits are enormous, because it works directly at the cause, and besides the disappearance of panic attacks or anxiety, the patient feels relieved, liberated, and with the feeling that they were able to end some painful chapters of their life.

The duration of the treatment and its effects

Duration of treatment for simple cases of panic attacks / anxiety may be between 5 and 15 sessions. The aim is basically on a general energy balance. In cases of emotional etiology, the duration is significantly higher and can range from 15 to 30-40 sessions. The Overall treatment duration is proportional to the complexity of the problem.

We need martial artists in radical movements. I'm pretty sure everyone can attest to this, for community self defense and for the need to discipline radicals on a social as well as individual level. It is a shame so many radicals as well as many anarchists don't know the basics of body structure or self defense. So this piece is aimed at a proposal.

Proposal: The creation of a Warrior Program/Collective aimed at training and providing radicals with the needed self defense, skills, and training to be well rounded activists. The program/groups could function as a higher level of affinity groups, built on trust through training and working at building a cohesive set of skills that actually benefit radical communities beyond mere theory and abstract philosophy.

It would be nice to have a corps of individuals similar to the international brigades who are trained in permaculture, self defense, health and rewilding skills. Lets build a dialogue of the formation of such a group

After a seven hour procession through the streets thronged with mourners, the body of Venezuela's late President Hugo Chavez arrived Wednesday afternoon at the Military Academy where it was to lay?in state.

Tens of thousands of Venezuelans followed Chavez' coffin, draped in Venezuela's blue, red and yellow flag, as it was moved through the capital city of Caracas, from the hospital where the charismatic leftist leader died to its destination, about two miles away.

A Venezuelan government source estimated that some 8,000 people were gathered outside?the?Military Hospital where?he died, waiting for Chavez's private guards to begin the procession.

Television pictures showed much larger crowds in the city's main streets.

Chavez, 58, the socialist leader who ran Venezuela for 14 years, lost his two-year battle with cancer Tuesday.

One of the country?s top military leaders and a key Chavez supporter, Maj. Gen. Wilmer Barrientos, said on local television?(link in Spanish) that the procession would allow Venezuelans to pay their respects.

"That way we will offer him the honor of a head of state accompanied by the people, the people who love him so much, who venerated him, who continue to venerate him," he said.

A mass attended by the country?s political and military elite would be held at the Military Academy, Barrientos added.

A public funeral is scheduled for Chavez on Friday, followed by seven days of mourning.

"It's a moment of deep pain," Vice President Nicolas Maduro said Tuesday, as he announced Chavez's passing and urged the nation not to resort to expressions of violence.

'I adore him'
The deceased leader's daughter, Mar?a Gabriela Chavez, tweeted to her followers: "I don't have words. Eternally, THANK YOU! Strength! We must follow his example. We must continue building our NATION! Always daddy of mine!"

Venezuelans ? some in tears, some chanting "Long live Chavez!" ? also gathered near the Miraflores presidential palace Tuesday, The Associated Press reported.

"I feel such big pain I can't even speak," Yamilina Barrios, a 39-year-old office worker, told the AP. "He was the best thing the country had ... I adore him. Let's hope the country calms down and we can continue the tasks he left us."

One of the world's most flamboyant leaders lost his two-year battle with cancer on Tuesday, ending 14 years of a tumultuous and often bitterly divisive socialist reign. NBC's Mark Potter reports.

"He was our father. 'Chavismo' will not end. We are his people. We will continue to fight!" Nancy Jotiya, 56, in Caracas' downtown Bolivar Square, told Reuters.

Reuters reported isolated violent incidents, including the burning of tents used by students who had been protesting against secrecy surrounding Chavez's condition.

The oil-financed social policies implemented throughout his rule earned Chavez the support of the poor but also disapproval from Venezuela's business community and the wealthy. "At last!" shouted some women in an upscale neighborhood, according to Reuters.

Condolences also poured in from around the world.

Among those who made public remarks was Henrique Capriles Radonski, who faced Chavez in the nation's elections last October.

"We hurt for the feelings of pain of the deceased president's family, and of his colleagues and many Venezuelans, our most heartfelt condolences," Capriles said. Capriles lost to Chavez in October, but the latter was not sworn in due to his illness.

Telus HTC One S receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update

HTC One S owners in Canada, at least those on the Telus network, finally have a reason to rejoice. After pushing back the January 2013 update schedule, the HTC One S will now be receiving the official update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, along with an UI update to HTC Sense 4+.

MobileSyrup reports that the Telus website has now been updated with the software upgrade information, along with them also receiving tips from One S owners about the update reaching their phones OTA. If you haven?t got the OTA notification, you can try Settings ? About device ? Software update to find the download.

According to the Telus Android software update page, the ?benefits and enhancements? featured in this update include -

• Actionable notifications will show up in the notification pane
• You can now easily share videos and photos using Android Beam
• Improved device stability

Sharp may be close to receiving a $110 million boost from Samsung

Japan's Sharp has been struggling very publicly for some time now, and many reports indicate it's been looking outward for interested investors. While it already secured just such an arrangement with Qualcomm in December, rumors indicate attempts to reach a deal with Foxconn are in trouble and now Samsung is tabbed as a potential investor. Reuters and Japan's Nikkei cite sources indicating an official announcement could come sometime today regarding a 10 billion yen ($110 million) investment that would net the Korean electronics giant a three percent piece of Sharp. This deal would be mutually beneficial as Sharp gains a place to sell more of the LCDs it's capable of manufacturing, and Samsung cheaply expands its supply of panels, with a possibility of expanding their arrangement beyond LCDs in the future. We'll wait and see exactly what happens, but those IGZO screens Sharp is working on could be popping up in some unexpected places by the time it's all said and done.
